Despite an economic climate marked by the financial crisis, Sora Composites decided to continue with the choice of innovation at the service of clean technology.
This choice concerned helping to reduce the weight of rolling vehicles, through the use of ever-thinner and ever-stronger composite products, thanks in particular to carbon fibres and thermoplastic resins.
Our control of the formulation of resins and innovating materials, of preforming and moulding technologies, of assembly and painting techniques ensures compliance with increasingly sophisticated dimensional and aspect constraints and has enabled the group to take a leading role as one of the essential suppliers of bodywork parts for high class vehicle brands: Aston Martin, Tesla, Lotus, McLaren, Audi, etc.
Development of products which help reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions: rear spoilers: Peugeot, Citroën DS 3, DS 4, DS 5, Renault, and HGV cab deflectors: Man, Renault Trucks, Iveco, Daf, etc. is in constant progression.
Creation of the Soratech Research Cluster managed by our Technical departments, with the support of Cemcat, Estaca, our laboratory and industrial partners, has led to the development of new processes based on carbon preforms and thermoplastic matrices and has firmly established our research and innovation strategy. Stemming from this research and innovation work, products and original technologies have been created allowing changes to the structure of automotive vehicles: cost-effective, high production rate carbon frame offering a weight reduction of more than 100 kg per vehicle, i.e. savings equivalent to 3.5 L of fuel and 10 kg of CO2 per 1000 km.

Design and manufacture of innovating products, carbon fibre electric vehicles with safety cell, homologated photovoltaic panels as fitted in all roof types to produce electricity from solar energy.
Sotira recycles composites to produce swimming pool panels based on fully recycled materials. Further emphasis will be placed on recycling through the use of thermoplastic composite materials that are easier to assemble and recycle.
Our future investments will focus on creation of "green" production means, 2 hydro paint lines, reduction of VOC emissions, new equipment prioritising task automation, construction and renovation of low-energy premises that are more attractive for our employees, customers, current… and future partners;
A new organisation composed of 2 operational managements with increased workforce in purchasing, human resources, management control, industrialisation and Quality based on SAP has led to the definition of action plans adapted to the stakes of a fast-growing activity in an environment dominated by numerous technical challenges and high financial constraints.
These new directions result in a significant upswing in new markets, allowing us to anticipate the continued structural growth of the body parts activity, with major perspectives for Germany and Central Europe, and a promising start in carbon chassis applications and the photovoltaic sector.

The arrival of a new generation of modern, mobile, international young graduates combined with the experience and skills acquired since the creation of Sora Composites, in 1988, are our best assets to guarantee the development of a profitable activity and take up the challenges of the future automobile.
